Bí kịp luyện IELTS Writing hiệu quả

Như chúng ta đã biết, IELTS Writing có 4 tiêu chí chấm thi, bao gồm Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Vocabulary và Grammar. Điểm yếu của các thí sinh Việt Nam không phải là không trả lời được câu hỏi của đề bài mà là việc phát triển ý: rất nhiều bạn không thể giải thích sâu, phân tích chi tiết các arguments của bạn và đưa những ví dụ có liên quan để support cho quan điểm đó.

Lấy ví dụ, đề thi IELTS cuối tuần vừa rồi có hỏi về “newspapers” (Some people think that newspapers are the best source of news; Others think that there are better sources. Discuss). Thật sự là câu hỏi này không quá khó, nhưng khá nhiều bạn không phát triển chi tiết câu trả lời và mất điểm rất đáng tiếc. Với những câu hỏi phù hợp, bạn có thể đưa rất nhiều chi tiết vào câu trả lời của bạn:

- Who often read newspaper in society? -> old people; those who are busy and do not have time to watch TV

- Why newspapers? -> convenient. You can read on the bus, on the train while commuting to work; portable. After reading, you can pass on a newspaper to other people.

- Where to get a newspaper? -> At a news stand, right before you catch a train or a bus. You can also read at home in the morning after the breakfast.

- Without newspapers, what’s gonna happen? People would have to read online news or watch TV. Some people are sick of technology; they just want to escape the domination of technology in their lives.

Vậy là chúng ta có thể viết được một đoạn paragraph thôi:

On the one hand, there are good reasons why newspapers are still popular among part of the community. Firstly, newspapers are convenient and available all over the place. It is easy to have a copy of a daily newspaper at a news stand on the way to work, and people can read it on the bus or train. For many, reading newspapers forms part of their daily routines even in this digital era. Secondly, printed journalism acts as a means of communication that helps news seekers to temporarily escape the domination of technology in their lives. Reading a newspaper article is fun and entertaining without any eye strain or distractions that are often caused by the use of technology. (118 words)
